Superman cakes created for my son's 3rd birthday! My hubby is very artistic and free-handed the shapes of the cakes, as well as the "S". Frosted with buttercream.
Welcome to my caking blog! I'd like to use this space to share pictures and ideas, successes and failures with other Cake Divas (or Cake Dudes, whoever you might be!). I also hope to reach those locally who are in need of a custom-made...and yummy...cake for a special occasion! Remember...anytime is a good time for Shortcake's! Email me at contactshortcakes@ yahoo.com for pricing and additional info!!!
I became a teacher because of teachers who inspired me while I was growing up. They were the people who loved to teach, to nurture, to push students to be the very best they can be. My Spanish teacher in high school, Senora Mike, was a great influence. She taught us to love the language and to learn and use it in fun, creative ways: translating our favorite rock songs into Spanish, translating a children's story into Spanish and performing it as a skit. I loved her class. That is the teacher I aspire to be...one who makes a difference in how students view learning. One who will have an impact on students and teach them to love learning every day.
I have a wonderful husband and 4 beautiful children who also inspire me every day to become a better person and a better teacher.
This will be my 10th teaching year, with grade levels ranging from PreK to 5th grade. I love to read and write, listen to music, spend time relaxing with my family and a good cup of coffee, decorate cakes for special occasions, and share ideas and laughter with my friends. I hope to someday publish children's books.
